Carbon Chrome Tubing

Carbon Chrome Tubing manufactured from an alloy containing a high proportion of chrome, typically greater than 13%.

Chrome tubing is classified as a corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) and is used where the wellbore conditions or reservoir fluid create a corrosive environment that conventional tubing cannot safely withstand.

What Is Carbon Chrome Tubing Made Of?

Chrome Moly products are named so due to the presence of the two elements Chromium (Cr) and Molybdenum (Mo). Cr increases the material’s resistance to corrosion and oxidation, and raises the material’s strength at high temperatures.

Is Chrome A Metal Or Steel?

Chrome is metal core plated with a thin chromium veneer. Standard chrome hardware has a polished surface that shines like a mirror and reflects light in the same way.

Common Applications

  • Power Generation: Used in boilers and heat exchangers due to its ability to withstand high temperatures and pressures.
  • Oil and Gas Industry: Employed in pipelines and drilling components where corrosion resistance and high strength are essential.
  • Automotive and Aerospace: Utilized in the manufacturing of roll cages, chassis components, and other structural parts requiring high strength-to-weight ratios.

Available Grades

Carbon chrome tubing is available in various grades, each tailored to specific requirements. Common grades include 4130 and 4140, which offer a balance of weldability, machinability, and strength.

Considerations

When selecting carbon chrome tubing, it's important to consider factors such as the specific environmental conditions, mechanical requirements, and any necessary heat treatments to achieve desired properties. Consulting with a materials engineer or supplier can help ensure the appropriate grade and specifications are chosen for your application.

【H】 Ceramic lined pipe

Ceramic lined pipe is made through self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) technique.

【H】 Cast basalt lined steel pipe

Cast basalt lined steel pipe is composed by lined with cast basalt pipe, outside steel pipe and cement mortar filling between the two layers.

【H】 Ceramic Tile Lined Pipes

Ceramic tile lined pipes have very uniform coating of specially formulated ceramic material that is affixed to the inner of the pipe.

【H】 Rare earth alloy wear-resistant pipe

The material of the rare earth alloy wear-resistant pipe is ZG40CrMnMoNiSiRe, which is also the grade of rare earth alloy steel.

【H】 Tubes Erosion Shields

Tubes Erosion Shields are used to protect boiler tubing from the highly erosive effects of high temperatures and pressures thereby greatly extending tube life.

【H】 ASTM A213 T91 Alloy Tube

The ASTM A213 T91 seamless tubes are primarily used for boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger.
